Cheerio Old Chap Cable Coiling

Participation: Individual event

 

Event Description: This is a timed event.The athlete who can coil the 50-foot length of coax (the stiff kind, you can't wrap this around your elbow) in the shortest time is the winner. There is a secret to this, but the event judges from Teleproductions are not talking.


To Register: Send your name and the name of this event to the IOOC Coordinator before 10 a.m. of the day of this event. Walk-ons also welcome. Note: Participation in the Games provides tacit permission for the future use of any photographs or videos.

Rules:

1. The coax will be laid out by the Judge prior to the start of each heat.

2. Athletes must stay behind the coiling line at all times.

3. Athlete must work alone (coaching from sidelines is encouraged and may, or may not, help). Hands, feet and knees may be used during coiling.

4. Finished coil must be neat, uniform and the diameter must meet the Judge's specification (sample will be available at the event). Time penalities will be assessed for neatness and diameter infractions: -- seconds for every 2 inches over or under the designated diameter. -- 1 second for each non-uniform loop.
